CNC machining (CNC machining) NC machining refers to the processing with NC machining tools. CNC index controlled machine tools are programmed and controlled by NC machining language, usually G code. NC machining G code language tells the CNC machine tool which Cartesian position coordinates to use, and controls the feed speed and spindle speed of the tool, as well as the functions of tool converter and coolant. NC machining has great advantages over manual machining. For example, the parts produced by NC machining are very accurate and repeatable; NC machining can produce parts with complex shapes that cannot be processed manually. 

NC machining technology has been widely promoted. Most machining workshops have NC machining capabilities. The most common NC machining methods in typical machining workshops are NC milling, NC lathe and NC EDM wire cutting (WEDM). The tool for NC milling is called NC milling machine or NC machining center. The lathe for numerical control turning is called a numerical control turning center. NC machining G code can be manually programmed, but usually the machining workshop uses cam (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software to automatically read CAD (Computer Aided Design) files and generate G code program to control the NC machine tool.

CNC machining has the following advantages:

① The number of tooling is greatly reduced, and complex tooling is not required for machining parts with complex shapes. If you want to change the shape and size of parts, you only need to modify the part processing program, which is applicable to the development and modification of new products.

② The processing quality is stable, the processing accuracy is high, and the repetition accuracy is high, which meets the processing requirements of aircraft.

③ In the case of multi variety and small batch production, the production efficiency is higher, which can reduce the time of production preparation, machine tool adjustment and process inspection, and reduce the cutting time due to the use of the best cutting amount.

④ It can process complex surfaces that are difficult to be processed by conventional methods, and even process some unobservable machining parts.

The disadvantage of numerical control processing is that the machine tool equipment is expensive, and the maintenance personnel are required to have a high level.
